Speaking with French website Movie & Game (and translated by members of ResetEra), Gans ( who currently has scripts ready for a new Silent Hill film in addition to a Fatal Frame adaptation) has added fuel to these longstanding rumours of several Silent Hill projects, claiming that there are “several games in development” with “several teams”.
The saga that is the Silent Hill franchise and its ongoing rumours have added another twist in the form of the director for 2006’s film adaptation, Christophe Gans. The team stresses that production hasn’t begun yet, but that they are “working on the foundation of this new setting.” The new IP is being “incubated entirely within CD Projekt RED”, a first for the company. Lastly there’s “Canis Majoris”, which will be created by an external studio “headed by experienced developers who have worked on earlier Witcher games.” It will be powered by the Unreal Engine 5 and the toolset that the team are creating for “Polaris”.Īs for the fourth project, its codename is “Hader”, and will be an “entirely distinct IP” that began its conceptual stage last year. The next is “Polaris”, which is an entirely new trilogy of games, and “further expands upon the open world storytelling known from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.” The games are positioned to be released “over a six-year period starting from the release of Polaris.” The new game is set in the Witcher universe, but will differ from past productions in that it will target “a broader audience.” “Sirius” will also have a multiplayer component on top of a single-player experience.
